The Breathing Class™ - Your 14-Day Breathwork Challenge!
The Breathing Class™ is a dynamic breathwork practice of relearning to breathe optimally for life-changing physical and psychological benefits. The method was created from a combination of breathing techniques used in martial arts, birthing, free diving, singing and yoga. The aim of the class is to provide precise information on exactly how well you are breathing today and how it is affecting your body and mind - and teach you how to correct your breathing, strengthen your breathing muscles and learn a short “active recovery breath" (active meditation) to use daily.
During this informative and practical class, you will:
Re-learn to breathe correctly & optimally, in an anatomically congruous and bio-mechanically sound way – meaning the way your body was designed to breathe, the way it used to breathe and the way it wants to breathe;
Get your Baseline numbers: Receive a breathing assessment to provide you with your breathing baseline numbers today, also useful to track progress going forward. This assessment will measure your breathing style (where you are breathing from), any dysfunctional breathing patterns, and your ARF (Abdominothoracic Respiratory Flexibility), ultimately providing you with your own BIQ (Breathing IQ) Grade™. Understand the Bio-mechanics & Psychology of Breathing: Receive a short lecture on the anatomy, mechanics and psychology of correct functional breathing and incorrect dysfunctional breathing patterns; Understand the negative health effects caused by incorrect “upper chest, vertical” breathing, and the tremendously powerful benefits of correct “diaphragmatic, horizontal” lower-body breathing on overall health; Understand how most of us went from the healthy breathing of a child to the dysfunctional breathing of an adult.
Get a solid breath workout: Practice a series of tailor-made breathing workout exercises aimed at fixing the mechanics of your breathing, maximising inhales and exhales, unlocking the diaphragm, expanding rib cage flexibility, strengthening your breathing muscles, and dismantling poor breathing habits. The class will end with an Active Meditation & Recovery breathing practice (prepare to work your core!). You also receive a series of exercises & resources to practice as homework;

WHAT TO BRING TO YOUR BREATHING CLASS:
Bring a yoga mat, blanket and a heavy object of 3-5kg (can be a large book or anything heavy)
For Online sessions: have a flexible measuring tape available at home, like a sewing tape (for your breathing assessment)
Wear comfortable loose clothing
Do not eat a heavy meal before the session, make sure you have well digested
